Sparking Youth Ministry So Many Teens, So Many Options...

Looking for ways to reach out to the teens of your parish? Looking for a program that works? How about taking advantage of the "Sparking Parish Outreach to the Young" program. The Office for Youth Ministry is helping to create youth friendly parishes by working as an advocate for youth ministry within the parish. We have been most successful in accomplishing this task through parish based presentations. We have been spending many evenings talking with Parish Councils, Finance Councils, Religious Education leaders, CYO group leaders, concerned parents, active leadership teens and many others. The parish presentation usually lasts from 7:00 - 8:30pm, with time for questions. We will talk with groups of 3 or 150 plus. We cover four main points during the presentation.   A YOUTH MINISTRY OVERVIEW: History, What about CYO, Religious Education and Youth Ministry working together, What or Who is a Youth Minister, What or who is a youth ministry coordinator. MODELS OF PARISH PROGRAMS: What's happening where, Examples, Being Stragic, Choosing and entry point for youth ministry, serving a need not ministering to ourselves! ORGANIZATION: How do we get started, Who needs to be involved, where do we go from here?
